Growing Through Advocacy: Mollie Bennett Joins the One Voice Arkansas Junior Board

Mollie Bennett, Junior Board Member of One Voice Arkansas

One Voice Arkansas is excited to welcome Mollie Bennett to the Junior Board—a thoughtful, driven student whose passion for communication, leadership, and service is guiding her toward a future in speech pathology.

A Future Built Around Communication

Mollie is currently attending Ouachita Baptist University, where she is working toward a career in speech pathology with plans to become a Certified Speech-Language Pathologist. Her decision to join the One Voice Arkansas Junior Board is rooted in both curiosity and purpose.

“I believe being on the Junior Board will be a great opportunity to get more involved in the CAS community and learn more about it,” Mollie shared. “I also think it will be a good experience overall—especially as I prepare for a future career in speech pathology.”

Through her involvement, Mollie hopes to gain a deeper understanding of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) while actively supporting the families and children affected by it.

A Strong Foundation of Leadership and Service

Mollie brings an impressive background of leadership, volunteerism, and real-world experience to the Junior Board. Throughout high school, she served in multiple leadership roles, including Senior Class President, Senior Cheer Captain, and BETA Club President. Her leadership was further recognized through her selection as an Ouachita Leadership Scholarship recipient.

Her commitment to service extends far beyond the classroom. Mollie spent two years serving on international mission trip teams, experiences that strengthened her compassion, adaptability, and desire to serve others. She has also worked as a summer camp teacher and previously as a barista at The Social Nutrition Hub, roles that helped shape her communication skills and ability to connect with people of all ages.

In addition, Mollie gained hands-on experience in digital communication through her involvement with the Rock Creek student social media team and the Baptist Prep media team, equipping her with skills that translate directly into advocacy and outreach work.

Skills That Support the Mission

Mollie brings a wide range of talents to the One Voice Arkansas Junior Board, including:

  • Event planning

  • Fundraising

  • Public speaking

  • Social media engagement

  • Peer outreach

She is also a current member of NSSHLA (National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association) and plans to continue expanding her leadership and community involvement through campus organizations and a social group or sorority this spring.

Looking Ahead

As a Junior Board member, Mollie hopes to strengthen her communication and leadership skills, build meaningful connections with fellow members, and work collaboratively to advocate for individuals and families affected by CAS. Her involvement on the board will play an important role in preparing her for her future career—whether in a school setting or private clinic—where advocacy, empathy, and communication are essential.

Mollie’s dedication to growth, service, and speech advocacy reflects the heart of One Voice Arkansas. We’re proud to have her on the Junior Board and look forward to the impact she will make—one voice at a time.
